My little boy loves going to Liz’s and has gone since he was 4 months old. Liz has really helped with his crawling/walking and eating, keeping up the encouragement from home. When we collect him at the end of the day it’s clear he has been enjoying himself and enjoys the interaction with not only the other babies his age but the school age children around before and after school drop off.

Communication with Liz is great, we get regular text updates and pictures along with a handover book each day which details his naps, nappies, food eaten and activities undertaken that day.

Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Liz to anyone looking for a childminder, in fact we did and a friend quickly signed up with her also!

I have been sending my daughter to Liz three days a week for almost 2 years now since she was just over one year old, and I can't recommend her childminding service highly enough. Having not had the best experience at a larger nursery, I was looking for somewhere caring and nurturing where my little girl would thrive and be happy, and this is exactly what I found with Liz.

Liz provides a true home from home environment in which the children feel safe and are encouraged to be creative and independent. She provides a superb range of activities for them to do both indoors and outdoors, and her relationship with them is fantastic. You can see why the children she has cared for keep in touch with her years later!

The children in Liz's care are very polite, loving and respectful towards her and towards each other - qualities which reflect the high expectations that she has and the positive environment that she creates.

Communication with us as parents is frequent, open and honest, and you can always count on Liz to reply promptly if you ever have any queries or questions. Liz is also very flexible which is extremely helpful. No longer do you have to worry about being charged a late fee if you get stuck in traffic on the way back from work, and if you have any special requests Liz is always open to them. My daughter developed allergies to certain foods for example, and Liz has been more than happy to accommodate our needs on that front.

All in all, if you're looking for childcare that is more than just a 'one size fits all' approach and a childminder who will become more like family to both you and your children, then Liz is the one you want.

Liz looked after my grandson for 2 and a half years, until our family moved away.

Liz and her family  take time to know all the children in her care and my grandson really looked forward to going there. It is like a home from  home.

My son, Sam has been going to Liz Shuttleworth for almost three years, starting with her just before he turned one.

I chose Liz for many reasons, but the main one was seeing how all the children in her care were around her. They were fun, cheeky and relaxed, but also respectful of her and her home. When she asked them to do something, they did it willingly and happily. I knew then that this was the kind of environment that I wanted my son to be in.

Since then I have not been disappointed – in fact my expectations have been exceeded. In Liz’s care Sam has thrived. Liz does endless activities with him from arts and crafts, to baking and reading. He also gets a good balance: not only does he get time chilling out at home, but Liz takes him to groups as well so he gets to socialise with other children.

The other children Liz looks after are polite, well mannered, friendly and playful. Sam loves them and they love Sam. I attribute many of Sam’s good habits and behaviour to what Liz has taught him and from what he has learned from the children around him.

I cannot recommend Liz highly enough. Liz and her family have welcomed Sam into their home, and I know when I drop him off in the morning that he’s going to have a packed day full of fun, stimulation and, above all, love and care. I will be very sad when he has to leave to start at Cloverlea.

Liz has looked after my two daughters for over three years now and I couldn’t be happier with the care that they receive, I am happy to go to work each day knowing that my children are in safe hands and will be looked after so well.

Liz is extremely organised and has a variety of different toys and activities for the children to do, each day is structured around the activities of the children. Liz often takes the children on outings and to the Childminders Playgroup every week and this is something that my children really enjoy.

Liz is very caring and is willing to go that extra mile to help you out. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Liz to anyone that wants their children to be cared for in a loving, safe and fun environment.

I have known Liz for 6 years. My son, Thomas, first went to Liz just before his 2nd birthday and my daughter, Ria, since she was 9 months old. Liz looks after my children 3 days a week, this was for a full day between 7.45am – 6pm but is now before and after school.

On my first meeting with Liz I knew immediately that I would like to send Thomas to her, after having visited a number of childminders in the region. I have been extremely happy with the care both of my children have received throughout the 6 years.

Liz’s home is welcoming, clean and has a huge variety of toys and activities available which she rotates regularly. Over the years my children have been on a number of day trips with Liz and they have enjoyed these. There are also regular trips to the park and library.

Liz communicates clearly to the children and gives them clear direction. She is friendly and my children get on well with her. She encourages independence and good behaviour in the children and has fair approach to discipline. I also feel that I can discuss any issues or concerns I do have regarding their care with Liz in an open and honest manner.

I’m aware Liz keeps up to date and has been on a number of relevant courses and I feel that she fosters a safe and secure environment for childminding.

Liz provides Thomas and Ria with their meals, which are in line with their dietary requirements and also provides healthy snacks.

I feel that the care they receive at Liz’s has had a positive impact on both of my children.
I would recommend Liz as a great and very reliable childminder.
